MBBS (English Taught) Fee Schedule 2026

Shihezi University is one of the top-ranked MOE-listed universities, hosting over 600 foreign students from diverse nationalities.

Shihezi University offers a Six-Year Medicine MBBS Program (Taught in English) that includes an internship during the final year. The annual cost of WHO-recognized Clinical Medicine (MBBS) Taught in English is 35,000 RMB/year (USD 4,900), which includes tuition and accommodation fees (two students sharing a room).

This fee doesn’t include food and travel expenses (airfare, etc.). The monthly cost of food is between 600 RMB and 800 RMB, equivalent to $100.

MBBS Course Duration:

The MBBS (English-taught) program at Shihezi University comprises a Six-year curriculum. The first year consists of Basic Medical subjects alongside the Chinese language. 

Foreign Students are not required to acquire HSK-4 proficiency in their first year, since instruction at Shihezi University is conducted in English, approved by the Ministry of Education of China.

Eligibility Criteria:

Students must fulfill the following admission criteria to be eligible to apply for the Clinical Medicine Program (MBBS) at the Shihezi University.

  • Applicant must be a non-Chinese citizen.
  • The student must have a valid Passport (validity not less than a year)
  • The age limit to apply for the Medicine Program (bachelor’s Degree) is 15-25 years.
  • Students must achieve a minimum of 60% marks in senior high school/grade 12, WAEC, or GCE A-levels.
  • Students must be fluent in English.
  • The applicant must be in excellent physical and mental health.
  • The applicant must provide a bank statement demonstrating sufficient funds to meet the financial requirements.

The student will be responsible for paying the school’s tuition and accommodation fees upon arrival on the first day. Upon receiving the visa from the Chinese Embassy and before arriving at the school, the student is required to pay in advance the Registration fee, health insurance charge, books price, and Bedding Charges.

From the 2nd year onwards, fee payments are due to be paid in the month of August every year, with the deadline of 30th August.

Internship:

The Cost of the Clinical Internship at Shihezi University is 17,000 RMB, including accommodation. According to the new policy by the Ministry of Education, China (MOE China), International Students studying Medicine (MBBS) at Shihezi University (from Batch 2020 onwards) will do Clinical internships in China at the First Affiliated Hospital of Shihezi University.
